THE TRIBAL 8 (a) ADVANTAGE
As a wholly-owned economic instrumentality of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, KG3 participates in the SBA 8(a) Business Development Program — offering federal agencies a faster, more flexible, and non-protestable procurement pathway.
BENEFITS OF 8(a) SOLE SOURCE CONTRACTING
The Tribal 8(a) process reduces procurement timelines from months to weeks, allowing agencies to respond quickly to mission-critical needs without sacrificing compliance or performance.
Federal agencies may issue sole-source awards to KG3 subsidiaries up to:
• $25 million for civilian agencies
• These awards are FAR-compliant and non-protestable.
DoD contracts with Tribal entities qualify for the Indian Incentive Program, allowing agencies to receive reimbursement for a portion of contract costs — while directly supporting Tribal economic development.
Because Tribal 8(a) awards are non-competitive, agencies avoid lengthy bid cycles and protest delays — enabling faster execution, clearer scope control, and predictable delivery.
